As we wrap up another year at Watershed, we’re proud to reflect on the updates and improvements we’ve made during 2024. We’ve been hard at work enhancing our product, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of L&D professionals just like you.
These updates have been designed to make data storytelling more intuitive, reporting more personalized, and insights more accessible. Let’s explore the key developments that have shaped Watershed this year.
Platform improvements
We’ve rolled out some significant updates to our learning analytics platform, enhancing its performance:
Sharper L&D reportingWe’ve fine-tuned our reporting tools to give you even more reporting options. The Measure Editor, Heatmap reports, and Formula measures have all gotten a boost, ensuring that your data tells the right story and that you can make more informed decisions.
Smoother data processingOur data processing capabilities have taken a big step forward. We’ve improved CSV imports, refined statement-based reports, and optimized extension duration measures. These changes make data handling smoother and allow for more detailed analysis of learning outcomes.
Better user managementThe user management experience underwent improvements as well. Organization promotion processes became smoother, email notifications are more reliable, and user provisioning displays are clearer. All of this adds up to a more straightforward and efficient admin experience.
Enhanced API and integrationsWe’ve made some significant improvements to our API and integration features. The Aggregation API is now more reliable and we’ve enhanced Match in Array measures. These updates make it easier for Watershed to work well with other tools in your learning ecosystem.
More user-friendly interfaceOur user interface has gotten a facelift. We fixed issues with embedded report displays, improved the Custom Filters in the Report Builder, and updated our security policy for better cross-browser compatibility. The result? A more intuitive and secure user experience.
Expanded analytics toolsWe’ve added some great new analytical features. You can now use dynamic numerical targets, access all types of aggregation for statement-based reports, and get more detailed CSV exports. These additions offer the ability to do more sophisticated and detailed analyses.
More personalization optionsPersonalization took a step further with the introduction of user-specific default timezone settings. Additionally, we implemented measures to ensure that your analytics remain focused exclusively on your organization's data, providing you with the most relevant and actionable insights possible.
Customizing data presentation
We also introduced powerful new features that give you more control over how your data appears in reports:
Modify measure outputAdjust how data appears in reports without altering the underlying xAPI statements. For example, you can change labels to make reporting more intuitive for different audiences or tweak how properties display within measures.
Combine multiple measures into a single measureEnhance the clarity of your data presentations by merging various metrics into a single, cohesive measure. This feature is particularly useful for providing a more holistic view of the data, such as combining raw scores with percentages for a fuller context.

Personalized reporting with dynamic filters
We introduced dynamic filters to make L&D reporting more personalized and relevant. You can tailor reports based on specific user data, benefiting both individual learners and team leaders.
Key capabilities include:
- Filtering reports to show data only for the logged-in user
- Group-based filtering for managers to view data for their direct reports
Dynamic filters help make reporting more actionable by focusing on the information that matters most to each user, saving time and enhancing the accuracy and usefulness of reports.
